After a few months of talking & a bit of training the countdown is finally on.
Getting to the starting line is a challenge in itself. In the end we took took a train up to Warwick & then 5 of us squeezed into nick's car with 3 bikes on the back for 300miles to a travellodge on the A9, arriving just after midnight having chased the sunset for 2 hours since crossing the boarder.
Leaving this morning after a breakfast of true athletes, courtesy of the golden arches, the sat nav directions are pretty straightforward - 2nd right at the next roundabout, 109 miles. Inverness here we come!
So what does 2 weeks worth of clothes & a week's worth of snacks look like? well something like this.
The most surprising thing is that it all fits into 2 pannier bags (kindly on loan from Tim)
So we're already further north than I've ever been in the UK & just a couple more hours of scenic driving before the real adventure (& saddle sores) begin.
